Meanwhile
Edinburgh Science Festival, April 2019

Meanwhile follows three different layers of fragility – one that is present in our personal domain, other that has social and political implications, and third which introduces geopolitical environmental issues. Specific family relations, immigrant crisis, and fossil fuel extraction are portrayed through a common media – an everyday phone call between protagonists and their family members. International phone calls featured in the film act as an instant connection between people, they articulate local stories on a global level.

This film was a collaboration with Hsin Shyu, Andreas Papamichael, and Siobhan Wilson. It premiered at the Edinburgh Science Festival, at the screening in ECCI, in April 2019.
